[After a pause]

It would show me and them that you're not just claiming to take responsibility. It'll also look better for you in the longrun.

[She shifts on her feet, using the cane to transfer some of her weight.]

For now, you're going to enjoy a week here in Level 0 while the Wardens try to come to some agreement and write it down like the Admiral wants us to. I'll come to see you, bring you your medicine as you need it; we'll talk.

Fair enough. [He seems to think for a moment] I don't feel as bad about all this as everybody probably thinks I should. I have few regrets.

And what are those?

I didn't plan well enough, and I allowed some people I care for to get caught up in it. That's all.

[Her face falls.]

What do I need to do to stop you from planning altogether?

Show me that the Wardens deserve their station. If they behave like something to aspire to, we'd be more inclined to listen.

[He gets up and approaches the bars, looking at Morgan]

But I do want to say that... If I must have a Warden, I'm glad it's you.

[Her expression softens; she really hadn't been expecting to hear that from him.]

You mean that?

I do, yes. [He smiles slightly] Frustrating as you may be at times. [After a pause] And frustrating as I may be.

[Morgan laughs a little. Shortly. Then she subtly pushes under one of her eyes with a knuckle.] I wouldn't have it any other way, myself. And I can only do what you ask by speaking out and doing my best to serve as an example. I hope that'll be enough.

I can't expect anything from the others. I know that now.

You let me worry about the others.

I don't expect they'll listen to any grievances for a good long while.

Which is why you bring them to me so that I can speak for you.

[He sighs] For now. [After a beat] I hope your being my warden won't affect your standing with the others.

[He doesn't sound too hopeful. He honestly doesn't expect the Wardens to listen or do the right thing]

[Morgan smiles.]

Henry, in all the time you've known me, when have I ever allowed the perceptions or opinions of others to stop me from doing what I want to do?

[He smiles a little] Fair point.

And -- [She frowns, reminded of problems that came well before the riot ever began] I have wanted you to learn by that example, when it comes to your own troubles. I haven't gone about that in the best of ways in the past; I've even undone progress that I hoped to make. For that, I am truly sorry.

That's... [He hesitates, sighs] a different situation entirely. But I am grateful for the apology. [After a moment, he mutters] But I still don't see what anybody could possibly see in those men.

[Morgan sighs, thinking on it a moment.] I don't think I could explain it without sounding like an idiot. Everyone was mad at me, not just you. Rube was gone. And then someone offered me a drink. [Saying it aloud makes her realize just how utterly -- pathetic that was. Her stomach turns a little.]

[He smiles affectionately] I've been in that position before, but typically, I follow that drink with a quick shag and never speak to the other person again. [He tilts his head, watching her] You could do so much better than that. [Hesitantly, he continues] I may not have gotten on with Rube, but I did like the two of you together, and I really am sorry he's gone.

That's a little difficult to do when I can't leave them on land and never speak to them again. [She chooses not to answer that bit about her doing better. She knows. As for Rube --] Thank you for saying that, but -- we weren't together, Henry. Not like that. He didn't want me, remember?

That's why we have ports.

[He shrugs] I didn't exactly mean it romantically, just... in general. Anyway, he was a fool not to. [Which was what he had wanted to tell her way back, before he'd gotten angry with her]

[Morgan's face falls.] Yeah -- Maybe. [She blinks a few times then shakes her head.] Do you need anything?

[He shakes his head]

No. If I'm to be in a cell, I have all I need.

[Morgan nods.] All right. You know how to contact me if that changes.
